SIMON SHABANTU KASHAMA (Soldier) is a songwriter and guitar player originally from the Congo. Since 2005, Mr. Kashama has been playing guitar with Yves Francois et Rocambu Jazz. This collaboration has resulted in a rendition of Wendo Kolosoy’s “Marie-Louise” which can be found on Yves Francois’ CD Aimez-vous Rocambu? He has been working on a video production of Yambi Yambi (Welcome) in collaboration with Rachel Ries and filmmaker Peter Grosz.
