 Cherise Boothe
(Josephine) is thrilled and honored to be a part of this production of Ruined. Ms. Boothe was seen recently in August Wilson’s 20th Century at the Kennedy Center where she played Mattie in Joe Turner’s Come and Gone and Grace in Piano Lesson. She was also in Adrienne Kennedy’s Ohio State Murders (2008 Lucille Lortel Award for Outstanding Revival; Theatre for a New Audience). Other previous work includes: King Hedley II (Signature Theatre), The Blacks (CTH), Huck & Holden (Cherry Lane), Mary Zimmerman’s Metamorphoses (Rep. Theatre. of St. Louis/Cinci. Playhouse), The Book Club Play (BTF, 80th Anniversary Season), Insurrection: Holding History (BTF) and Blues for an Alabama Sky (BTF/Actor’s Theatre of Louisville). Film/TV: The Inside Man (dir. by Spike Lee), Then She Found Me (dir. by/starring Helen Hunt), The Wool Cap (w/ Keke Palmer and William H. Macy), Everyone’s Hero (animation; voice of Rosetta Brewster). Ms. Boothe holds an M.F.A. from NYU and is a proud member of Actors Equity.
