HENRY KRIEGER (Music). Mr. Krieger’s Dreamgirls won six Tony Awards and he was nominated for his score for which he won the Grammy Award for Best Original Cast Album. Dreamgirls generated new success with new audiences as a hit movie musical directed by Bill Condon. One of the songs from the film, “Love You, I Do,” won the 2007 Grammy Award for Best Song Written for a Motion Picture. His most recent Broadway musical, Side Show, directed and choreographed by Robert Longbottom (libretto by Bill Russell) was nominated for four Tony Awards including Best Score. A new Bill Condon-directed production of Side Show is being created for its return to Broadway. He has also reunited with Robert Longbottom on an entirely new production of Dreamgirls with new sets by Robin Wagner. Henry is absolutely thrilled and joyous to be collaborating with the gentleman, genius and good friend that is John Patrick Shanley on Romantic Poetry. |
